One Way or Another Productions LLC is a New York-based independent film production company that produces independent films, documentaries and online TV content. The company was founded in September 2000 by Princeton Holt, months before graduating from the New York Film Academy. This multi-faceted production company functions out of its main facility at 1469 Broadway in Brooklyn, New York.
In the year 2002, One Way or Another began producing music videos for various Boston-based artists including underground techno musician 14th Disciple, and hardcore metal rock band Diatribal Revenge, whose first LP was executive produced by Anthony Cooper and engineered by Ryan Nugent. By 2004 the company began producing local commercials for companies like Verizon Wireless, as well as others.
One Way or Another's 2005 release, the 20-minute short film PHISH, was a critical and calling card success following its premiere at the 2006 Black Media Film and Video Conference in Philadelphia, where it was wildly received by a receptive audience. The short comedy was written and directed by Princeton Holt, and stars Roger Woo, Jace Nicole, Erica Livingston and Brian Ackley. PHISH was featured on the Manhattan and Queens, New York cable show "Urban Movie Review" - which combined has over one million viewers; the film received rave reviews by the critics and hosts of the show. PHISH is still on the festival circuit and will soon be available for sale on DVD.
In February 2008, the company completed principle photography on the debut feature film from writer/director Princeton Holt entitled COOKIES AND CREAM. This controversial character piece stars Jace Nicole (Phish), Brian Ackley (Hostage Person, Phish), Naama Kates (Normal, Nothing Sacred), Brooklyn-based musician and model Shannone Holt (Project Runway), as well as others, and features a first-time dramatic performance by comedian Ardie Fuqua (HBO’s Bad Boys of Comedy). COOKIES AND CREAM is currently on a festival tour that began with a sneak preview, out of competition screening at the SEXY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in New York City on November 22nd, 2008. In 2009, the film will also tour internationally with the festival to places such as France, Australia, London, and San Francisco.
One Way or Another also has completed several new feature films including UPTOWN, a NYC feature-length drama, directed by Brian Ackley, and CARTER, another NYC feature film by 2nd time filmmaker Ryan Andrew Balas. Both films are slated for release in early 2009, and were produced by Princeton Holt and producer Cassandra Riddick. Monica Trombley is the attorney and production manager for both films, and it features artwork by J. Lynn Menzel, and hair, make up and wardrobe by Crystal Glass. The completion of these last 2 feature films is what kicked off the company’s heavy production slate of newly completed as well as forthcoming feature films projects.
