This documentary film is about the growing culture of tattoos in this country and overseas. By using several real people with actual tattoos, as well as popular tattoo shops in the state of Massachusetts, it highlights the intricate designs of tattoo artists including George Wiggins and Mark Evans. Together, they hope to raise the standards and perceptions of tattoo shops and tattoos in general.
Ink investigates the truth about ink on skin and how it affects the body. Further explored, are the psychological and social affects of tattoos - why people want them, their impact on society, and the subculture revolving around them. Shooting on Ink began in October '08 and is projected to continue through April 2009. The film will be completed and ready for the festival circuit this Winter, 2009.
